About This Project

Some bathrooms play it safe. This one doesn't. When these West Chester homeowners approached Craftsworth Construction, they had one request that drove the entire design: they wanted a master bathroom floor that would stop people mid-sentence. Mission accomplished. A dramatic chevron-pattern wood-look porcelain tile now stretches wall to wall across the room, its multi-toned planks laid in a precise herringbone arrangement that creates a sense of movement, warmth, and undeniable character underfoot. It's the kind of floor that makes the rest of the room rise to the occasion, and every element in this bathroom does exactly that.

The shower anchors one end of the room with a generous walk-in design enclosed by frameless glass panels that keep the space feeling open and connected to the rest of the bathroom. Floor-to-ceiling white subway tile with contrasting gray grout lines the shower walls, giving the enclosure a clean, timeless look that plays beautifully against the richness of the herringbone floor beyond the glass. A recessed niche framed in matte black trim and lined with white penny round mosaic tile provides stylish storage for everyday essentials without interrupting the subway tile field. Dual shower heads, including a square rainfall head mounted to the ceiling and a handheld wand on an adjustable slide bar, ensure a spa-caliber experience every morning, all finished in matte black to match the hardware throughout.

A half-wall pony partition separates the shower from the commode area, offering privacy without closing off the room or blocking natural light from the large window beyond. This smart layout decision keeps the bathroom feeling spacious and airy, even with a full shower enclosure, soaking tub, vanity, and storage all sharing the same footprint. The walls throughout are painted in a warm greige that bridges the cool white tile and the warm wood-tone floor, creating a neutral envelope that lets the materials do the talking.

The freestanding soaking tub is positioned beneath a tall window that floods the bathing area with soft, filtered light. Its sculptural oval silhouette and matte white finish create a striking focal point, complemented by a floor-mounted matte black tub filler with a graceful gooseneck spout. Beside the tub, an artisan accent cabinet with intricate Moroccan-inspired geometric fretwork doors adds a layer of handcrafted texture and global character that elevates the entire corner. Topped with a live orchid, this piece transforms a functional bathroom into something that feels curated and intentional, not simply renovated.

The vanity wall features a sleek, wall-mounted white gloss cabinet that appears to float above the herringbone floor, emphasizing the tile pattern and making the room feel larger than its footprint suggests. A thick white countertop with integrated sink keeps the lines minimal and clean, while a rounded-corner black-framed mirror reflects the shower and tub beyond. Above, a two-light vanity fixture with clear glass globe shades casts warm, even light across the mirror and countertop, its matte black finish tying back to every other fixture and fitting in the room. A matte black towel ring and robe hook mounted nearby complete the hardware suite with quiet consistency.

Every detail in this bathroom was chosen to work in concert: the warm wood tones of the chevron floor against the cool white of the subway tile, the sculptural tub against the geometric cabinet, the industrial edge of matte black hardware against the softness of filtered window light. This is what happens when bold material choices are guided by disciplined design, and it's the kind of result that Craftsworth Construction builds its reputation on.
