About This Kitchen Remodel

This full-scale kitchen renovation in Exton, Pennsylvania transformed a dated layout into a stunning farmhouse-modern kitchen designed for both everyday living and entertaining. The design centers on an expansive center island finished in a rich dark walnut stain, topped with luminous white quartz countertops that carry throughout the entire kitchen. Custom white shaker-style cabinetry — built to the ceiling with elegant crown molding — provides extraordinary storage while maintaining a clean, timeless aesthetic. Matte black cabinet hardware adds a modern contrast that ties the two-tone palette together.

A custom-built range hood anchors the cooking zone, featuring a hand-selected reclaimed barnwood accent panel that brings warmth and texture to the space. This detail is echoed in the floating rustic wood shelves set within a built-in display niche — backlit with LED strip lighting and framed by subway tile — creating both a functional coffee station and a beautiful focal point.

The backsplash features glossy white subway tile that extends from countertop to ceiling around the sink area's oversized picture window, flooding the workspace with natural light and framing views of the lush, wooded backyard. An undermount stainless steel sink paired with an oil-rubbed bronze gooseneck faucet balances durability with refined style.

Professional-grade stainless steel appliances include a gas cooktop, double wall ovens, a French door refrigerator, and a microwave drawer integrated seamlessly into the island cabinetry. Three glass bell jar pendant lights with vintage Edison filament bulbs hang above the island, providing ambient task lighting with industrial-farmhouse character.

Rustic wood-look luxury vinyl plank flooring grounds the space with warmth and durability, while gray upholstered counter-height bar stools offer comfortable seating for four along the island's overhang.
