About this Project

This project was unique in nearly every way. From the beginning, our client’s goals and vision were achieved through careful planning of the space and selecting their materials to reflect the modern farmhouse style. This bathroom originally had a large Jacuzzi tub which was replaced with the new high-end shower, along with an old, small stand-up shower where the new linen closet is located now after the completed renovation. The design of the shower presented challenges with two existing windows to work around along with the placement of the plumbing fixtures that were gracefully overcome in the design/build planning phase of the project. The Craftsworth Construction (“CWC”) team uncovered some serious rot and mold issues when the original shower was removed, then quickly organized a plan to remediate the necessary components, and replace floor framing, plywood and wall framing with all new materials. The use of farm sinks, natural Carrara tile throughout, Kohler antique bronze hardware, and shaker style doors captured the exact style and feel the homeowner was hoping to achieve. Perhaps one of our favorite features in the bathroom is the organic floor transition from the bedroom into the bathroom where 3/4″ hand scraped walnut flooring naturally flows into the 8″ octagonal floor tile like they were manufactured together. This feature took an unprecedented amount of time, skill, patience and creativity from the CWC team, and we love the way it turned out! You will also notice a truly massive showerhead installed in the ceiling, centered in the shower, that was sourced directly from Kohler. This rain head features “real rain” technology that is brand new to Kohler, and provides an invigorating, deluge of natural rain from the shower ceiling.
